Film in schools program to rolls out...

3,500 primary schools by the end of 2006 to use Mac film technologies...

Apple are currently providing the technology at the heart of the FÍS initiative, to provide film skills in the classroom of Irish primary schools.
FÍS ("vision") was started in 1999 and the pilot scheme covered 31 primary schools. The purpose was to use film and IT to enhance teaching in the classroom. This scheme is now to be rolled out across 3,500 schools, with Macs, video cameras and other equipment to be made available to these schools.
The Institute of Art, design and technology (IADT) provides information to schools and teachers on how to make the most of this technology, and how to weave this into the curriculum.

More information is available from the Apple Ireland site, and from the FÍS website.
