Irish keyboard bug in Final Cut Express

Solution for Irish keyboard users

Just thought it was worth running this one by readers, in case anyone is experiencing the same issues:
PROBLEM:
Final Cut Express (FCE) 2.0.2 & 2.0.3 on Mac OS 10.4.2 unexpectedly quits if you try to use any keyboard shortcut. This is an issue which effects Irish keyboard layout users (but not British or US layouts).
WHAT IS HAPPENING?:
If you browse inside the package contents of the FCE application, you will see that the only keyboard layout listed is "US".
Here is the location:
FCE->Contents->Resources->English.lproj->Final Cut Express Settings->Keyboard Layouts
SOLUTION:
Go to System Preferences, click on International, and then choose "Input Menu." If your keyboard layout is set to "Irish", also turn on "US" and choose to "show input menu in menu bar." Now if you wish to use FCE 2, make sure to switch to "US" in the menu bar so that the US flag appears. Once you have finished in FCE you can switch back. Otherwise you will not be able to type the euro symbol and other localised characters.
It is annoying to have to change back on forth between keyboards before using FCE, but it is a solution until Apple address this bug.
