Details for Apple Expo Paris 2006 announced...

But what of the keynote...

Details for Apple Expo 2006 in Paris have been announced. The show is the largest Macintosh trade show in Europe, and is the only show outside the US which is attended by some Apple executives, including CEO Steve Jobs. Since the demise of MacWorld Tokyo, Apple have focused three shows: MacWorld San Francisco (January), the WWDC (summer) and Apple Expo (September). They also attend a selection of smaller shows such one in London (Sept/Oct) or various specialist trade shows such as NAB (National Association of Broadcasters).
The Paris show is to take place between September 12 and 16th at the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre. The Apple Expo website promises 250 Apple partners attending the show and special events such as free workshops.
However it is unclear whether or not Apple's CEO Steve Jobs will attend and whether he will give the keynote speech. The WWDC (Apple's professional developers' conference) has been moved to later in the year, and is now scheduled for August 7-11th 2006. This leaves one month between the two shows and would indicate that Apple might announce new technologies at one of the shows, but not both. Last year, Jobs travelled to Paris but didn't deliver a keynote. This was because Apple did not have products to launch at that time of the year. Instead there was a special event held in October, where the iPod with video as announced.
This year's WWDC has already promised a preview of Leopard, the next version of Mac OS X which is expected to be out in the first half of 2007. Apple Expo Paris is likely to show off any technologies demonstrated at the WWDC, but will Apple have anything new to announce one month after the WWDC? Will Steve Jobs travel to give a keynote at both shows?
