iMac

Introduction:
Apple's consumer desktop computer is the iMac. The all-in-one aluminium and glass iMac was launched on 7th August 2007 and were last updated in May 2011.
The iMac is a flat panel computer. It comes in two models: 21.5" or 27" versions, and has a fast Intel i5 processor (chip). It also has a small video camera built-in, allowing you to use this computer for video conferencing (broadband necessary).
The ports (sockets) are positioned on the back of the screen, and the CD/DVD ("Superdrive") drive slot is on the top right. The whole unit can be tilted and its design means that your desk is left uncluttered.
The iMac also comes with an Apple Magic Mouse and wireless keyboard.
An iMac has the following connectors (ports) and features:
- USB 2.0 (for printers, cameras, scanners etc.).
- iSight video camera built in.

▪ Thunderbolt and FireWire 800 sockets (for external hard drives etc.).
▪ Sound in and headphone socket
▪ Ethernet (gigabit Ethernet for high speed networks) - SD card slot for camera cards

▪ Airport wireless networking and Bluetooth built-in.
